Fildena is a sildenafil-based erectile dysfunction medicine used to improve erection quality in adult men. Fildena headache is one of the most common side effects because sildenafil widens blood vessels, and that vascular effect can trigger pressure, throbbing, facial warmth, or a heavy feeling in the head.
It is usually taken as needed before sexual activity and should not be used more than once in 24 hours. A heavy meal may delay onset. Alcohol can make headache, flushing, and dizziness worse.
Common side effects include headache, flushing, nasal congestion, indigestion, dizziness, nausea, visual changes, and facial warmth. The headache may be mild and short-lived in some users, but in others it can be one of the main reasons the product feels hard to tolerate.
Important warnings include chest pain, fainting, severe dizziness, sudden vision loss, sudden hearing loss, and priapism, which is a prolonged erection that becomes a medical emergency. A severe headache with collapse, confusion, weakness, vision change, or chest symptoms should not be treated as an ordinary side effect.
Fildena must not be used with nitrates such as nitroglycerin because the combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Caution is also needed with alpha-blockers, blood pressure medicines, and strong CYP3A4 inhibitors such as erythromycin, clarithromycin, ketoconazole, or ritonavir, because these can increase sildenafil levels and make Fildena headache and other side effects more likely.
It should be avoided or used very carefully in people with serious heart disease, recent stroke or heart attack, severe liver disease, very low blood pressure, retinitis pigmentosa, or significant kidney impairment.
